PHAR 7552 Life with Diabetes Day Camp - Fall 2014       2-2 hrs.

Prerequisites: P-3 student in good academic standing Students will work as a lay volunteer for children with type 1 diabetes in a day-camp setting, mentoring children with type 1 diabetes to become more independent and empowered to perform the activities prescribed by their healthcare providers. Students will gain an understanding of the day-to-day struggles and triumphs of people with diabetes, their caregivers, and other healthcare professionals working with the population as well as have the opportunity to interact and communicate with the children, their caregivers, and their healthcare providers. (Summer III)
